With over 25 years’ experience reporting for world-renowned broadcasters, Jon Hughes has built a reputation as a skilled filmmaker and journalist, covering major global events across more than 50 countries.

Proven in the most extreme environments, Jon has filmed on the frontline of conflict zones, in the immediate aftermath of natural disasters and documented humanitarian crises.  His images have captured raw human emotion – moments of horror and distress, but also inspired compassion and empathy, and the ability to find hope in the most desperate of circumstances.  Working with dedicated correspondents and producers he has contributed to reporting that has moved the public and policymakers to demand immediate action.

Beyond breaking news, Jon has worked in current affairs and on longer-form documentaries as a camera operator/Director of Photography (DOP), video editor, and producer—often combining multiple roles without compromising on quality. When working on in-depth documentaries and investigations, Jon brings together expertise in visual storytelling with a passion for impactful narratives. His location lighting skills, honed over many years, add high production value—whatever the budget or circumstances.
